Cool Thing of the Month
This is not for you. You have a computer and (more or less) know how to use it. The HP Printing Mailbox is for your elderly parent or loved one. The target demographic of this product is the person who has no desire to learn about or use computers, yet would love to receive email messages and photos from friends and family members. Through Presto, a subscription service, they'll get their own private (spam-free) email address. The Mailbox will dial-in on a regular phone line to retrieve and print messages, photos and newsletters. Not super-cheap at $150 (plus $10/month for the service), but it could make a world of difference for someone who can't or won't deal with anything more complex than an on/off switch. |
